Barriers Against Recovery
The author describes special personal problems alcoholics must recognise and deal with in order to maintain comfortable sobriety. It is not suggested that these are the only personal problems that alcoholics have, nor that they ever disappear from one's personality altogether. However, they are prominent in the lifestyle of alcoholics, and they will continue to plague the recovering alcoholic who fails to examine himsef or herself accurately.
Dr Gremmett's remarks are based on a lecture he presented at the 20th Annual General Meeting of the North America Association of Alcoholism Programs.
